Overview
You’ll work to ensure the department achieves sales, stock and margin targets through the development and trading of the product range, building and maintaining strong working relationships with the supplier base and manage the efficient running of the department.

What We Are Looking For
Preferably, you are an Assistant Buyer or have worked in a buying environment. You have a good understanding of the buying critical path, product cycle, supplier management and trading. You understand our customer profile and product range and are commercial.

Main Responsibilities
• Managing the critical path, including product development, negotiation, order raising, supplier deliveries and payments
• Ensuring you work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all products are launched on time in stores and online
• Identify opportunities with the buying manager with regard to range structure, width, gaps or over-ranging. Working with Design to agree on new development opportunities
• Contribute to product meetings, commenting on future trends and competitor ranges using knowledge gained from competitor shopping trips and external research.
• Regular review and reporting of our pricing and competitive stance in the market
• Demonstrate trading mentality when completing weekly trade summary & actions and actively drive sales in the department by being reactive to sales through stock management, promotions and repeats
• Continuous monitoring and review of category/product performance to analyse sales patterns, taking into consideration competitor activity and using this to advise relevant teams and take appropriate action.
• Provides support to team members – managing with the team day to day buying team workload & aiding with prioritisation

Buying Assistant

Overview:

An exciting opportunity to join the Lisa Angel team in assisting in the development of the product proposition by providing vital administrative support to the Buying & Merchandising team. You’ll work closely with the Buying team to ensure the department is running efficiently through orders, range plans, sample management and supplier communication. 

What We Are Looking For

Someone who has excellent administration and time management skills and a naturally pro-active attitude. You have a good understanding of the buying critical path, product life-cycle and strong communication skills. Whether you have prior buying experience or have transferable skills, we are looking for a “can do” attitude

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the range ensuring it is kept up to date with all relevant information and ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Coding new items in the system obtaining all required information to do so 
  • Accurately raise orders in line with deadlines, ensuring shipping and supplier terms are correct and the range plan is updated & accurate
  • Obtain shipping quotes dealing with the freight forwarder and supplier to book 
  • Ensure deliveries are on track, working with shipping forwarders and suppliers to confirm bookings adding updates to the system with any issues communicated to the team.
  • Taking full ownership of sample management, receiving and sending parcels, labelling samples and maintaining image libraries with accuracy. 
  • Work closely with the buying team to help complete product, strategy, trip and trading packs assisting as required
  • Ensure invoices are entered for supplier payments, liaising with finance as required
  • Understanding weekly sales reports and how that impacts your weekly priorities
  • Work closely with the warehouse & stock control teams, ensuring all new deliveries are QC checked, communicating issues with buyer and taking necessary action
  • Ensuring the office is organised; introduce new organisational systems / order stationery making sure our meeting space is clear and presentable for external meetings.
  • Learn how to use relevant systems by completing on the job systems training, always reactive to onboarding of new systems/processes
