Originally used in the 15th century in games across Europe, by the late 18th century tarot cards began to be used by the occult for divination purposes. Today, tarot cards are mainly used for fortune reading, with the intention that those having their readings can take away their own interpretations from the cards. The card featured on this necklace is inspired by a traditional tarot deck and features a fortune wheel in black and green enamel infill, and letters on the inside of the wheel which spell out 'good luck'. Around the wheel are tiny hamsa signs, rolling clouds and dainty stars, all in black and white enamel infill. Beneath the image is 'fortune' written in bold black lettering.
This necklace features a trace chain in 14ct gold plated brass, and a trace chain fastening via a simple lobster clasp which can be worn at 40.5cm, or 45cm via the extender link.
